A-La-Carte Enrichment Academic Class
Plan the day in class dedicated to acquiring diverse skills through an extracurricular class. Regularly review the calendar to stay updated on available classes. As the academic year progresses, a variety of themed classes are introduced to enrich the homeschool educational experience. Among the consistent favorites are the PowerPoint classes, the Book Club Class, and the Reading Art Lapbook project classes. Favorites: Pocket Full of Facts, Compare and Contrast the Past. Classes encourage rigorous critical thinking derived from CPALMS. Our A-LA-Carte sessions occur in a relaxed setting, often enhanced by subtle classical music from various American composers (when the activity permits). While students engage in their chosen project be it a Science PowerPoint, a Reading Lapbook, an artistic interpretation of a selected chapter book, a preparation for a rhetorical debate, Math practice on Kahn Academy or their study notes – they will encounter thought-provoking questions designed to stimulate critical thinking using the Socratic method.
